Academics

The transformative learning process at St. Mark is designed to help students grow both in and out of the classroom — from Nursery through Grade 10.

Approach

Active learning, every day

Each day is filled with opportunities to experience new educational and social situations. Our teachers create a safe and open setting where they can guide students in exploring the world around them.

We follow the Department of Education K to 12 curriculum across all levels, so a student who transfers in or moves on is always in step with the national programme.

Level one

Preschool

Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 — levels offered to be confirmed by the school.

Play-based learning that builds the habits Grade 1 assumes a child already has: listening, sharing, holding a pencil, following a routine, and being curious out loud.

  • Early literacy in English and Filipino
  • Numeracy through play and manipulatives
  • Social and emotional development
  • Music, art and gross motor activities

Technology

Blended learning

Introduced in 2020 and kept because it works — printed materials a child can take home, backed by an online classroom parents can see into.

Textbooks and modules

Printed lessons and module packets remain the backbone, so learning does not stop when the internet does.

Offline learning packets

Take-home exams, quizzes and projects that let a student work at their own pace between sessions.

Schoology LMS

Our learning management system for submissions, grades and video conferencing with teachers.

Beyond the classroom

Clubs and enrichment

The list below is a placeholder. The school should replace it with the clubs and programmes it actually runs.

Sports

Intramurals and inter-school meets.

Performing arts

Chorale, dance and drama.

Academic clubs

Science, math and journalism.

Outreach

Community service in Kaunlaran.
